How to Play Blackjack
Blackjack is usually played with one or more standard decks of cards, each carrying a specific value:
- Number Cards: Hold their face value.
- Face Cards (King, Queen, Jack): Valued at 10.
- Aces: Can count as either 1 or 11, depending on which is more beneficial for your hand.
At the beginning of each round, both the dealer and every player are dealt two cards. From there, players choose to:
- Hit: Request an additional card.
- Stand: Keep their current hand and end their turn.
- Double Down: Double their initial bet and receive one extra card.
- Split: When dealt two cards of the same value, split them into two separate hands to play independently.
The dealer follows set rules, typically hitting on totals of 16 or less and standing on 17 or higher. If a hand exceeds 21, it busts, resulting in an automatic loss.
